The Maijishan Grottoes, located in Tianshui City, Gansu Province, China, are a magnificent example of Chinese Buddhist art and architecture. The grottoes were first built during the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420 AD) and continued to be expanded and embellished over the course of hundreds of years, eventually becoming one of the largest grotto complexes in China.
